Latest standings online
Following the second
round of the 2010 Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship, the Mann
Construction Easter Stages, the championship standings have been updated
and are now available online.
Prior to the event new registrations were received from round 2 winners
Nigel Cannell and Nick Kaighin as well as third placed co-driver and
reigning champion Paul McCann.
The result for Cannell and Kaighin leaves them in joint 5th place with
round 1 victors Steve Quine and Richard Skinner.
Heading the Overall Drivers table at present though is 20 year old Connor Corkill. His fifth placed finish on the opening round and runners up spot last weekend is enough to give him a seven point lead over the ever consistent Kevin Vondy. Vondy is always a contender for the title as he goes so well on both the loose and asphalt. Third place is currently occupied by Riverside Furniture proprietor Chris Reynolds, he has one of only four drivers to score on both rounds and get points in the bag early. The final one of those four is Kris Killip, returning to the driving seat at the end of 2009 he has managed two finishes to put him near the top of the table.
In the co-drivers it
is Rob Fagg who leads the way following his two runners up results with
UK based John Cope and the afore mentioned Connor Corkill. Seven points
back is Sarah Fargher, co-driver to Vondy, and as with her driver they
could figure in the title race come the final round in November.
Mark Davenport holds onto third by virtue of his results alongside
Reynolds, while in fourth is Mark Brew - the only other co-driver to
score on both rounds.
